Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. My Pc had a virus, and trend helped me remove it, but now every time I sign on to Fire Fox the fallowing notification appears The proxy server is refusing connections Firefox is configured to use a proxy. Connect the device to Wi-Fi. From the Home screen of your Kindle, select Menu or tap the Menu icon, and then choose Sync and Check for Items. All my kindle apps on my various other non-windows devices work fine. I have no special port-forwarding or anything configured on my commercial off-the-shelf router. I'm even a gamer. What exactly am I supposed to do to make this work?

I have an ASUS router. This Kindle for PC thing won't even work in compatibility mode, or when running it as an administrator.I have uninstalled, I have reinstalled, I have manually deleted the kindle folder it leads behind.I have no idea how to make this thing work - and I'm an IT who used to get paid for this kinda stuff. Sorry, no clear answer, but just for info my Kindle app for Win10 installed and runs without issues, as did 2 other copies on different/older systems. So no special magic or port forwarding or admin mode or whatever is required, it's just a normal Windows app. Checking my options, I see that it installed with the usual default Auto-Detect Proxy, which is the same as No Proxy since I have none configured. If all your other apps are networking without problems, sounds like something specific to just that one somehow, that survives being reinstalled. Could your Windows software firewall settings have gotten messed up somehow, so that it thinks that app has been denied permission to access the network? It would fit the behavior.
